Three-Quarters Of Refugee-Linked Households In Vienna Rely On Taxpayer Handouts

In Vienna, 75 percent of households connected to migrants from countries like Syria and Afghanistan rely on government benefits. Nationwide, 47 percent of such households are unable to support themselves independently, according to Statistics Austria. Integration Minister Claudia Bauer says the figures demonstrate the need to move welfare recipients into employment more rapidly.
