Inside Zcash's new node that targets Visa-scale privacy at 50,000 transactions per second

Zcash's new Zakura client aims to scale the network to 50,000 transactions per second, similar to Visa and Mastercard, while maintaining strong privacy guarantees. The Zakura node, maintained by Sean Bowe and Dev Ojha, is part of a broader effort including Project Tachyon to increase throughput. It supports the upcoming Ironwood upgrade, set to activate on July 28.
