Space Force awards Pulse Space $40 million to advance laser power technology

Pulse Space, a Bellevue, Washington-based startup, secured a $40 million U.S. Space Force contract to advance its laser-based power and data transmission technology for spacecraft. The company, founded in 2022, previously received a $1.9 million Small Business Innovation Research grant and is part of the Missile Defense Agency’s SHIELD procurement program. Pulse Space aims to develop resilient satellite networks with high-power lasers for secure optical communications and energy transmission.
