New Singapore space agency seeks to build up the country’s space industry

Singapore’s new National Space Agency (NSAS) signed a cooperation agreement with Japan’s JAXA to explore joint projects in space technology, science and industry, including satellite development. NSAS aims to grow Singapore’s space sector—currently comprising about 70 companies and 2,000 workers—through partnerships and selective focus areas like Earth observation. The agency also plans national space legislation within three to five years to balance economic growth with sustainability.
